12 Days of Anime – Day 1, an Introduction

Hello! Welcome to Jaesthetics, my new anime blog. If you are reading this, you probably know me from my Twitter. What you probably don’t know is that this is actually my second aniblog – a few years ago I started one called Faulty Reviews. Well, I sort of fell out of aniblogging after a few seasons of anime back then, so instead of going back to Faulty Reviews I’ve decided to start over with a new site and a new format. Rather than doing episode reviews, which can be rather monotonous, this blog will essentially serve as a repository for basically anything that I feel like putting to paper. This also means that you can expect to see more than just anime-related content on Jaesthetics. Western films, television, history, international politics, et cetera – if I feel like talking about some topic and my thoughts on it are too long for Twitter, it’ll go here.

Anyways, another thing I plan on doing here is that whole 12 Days of Anime thing that seems to be rather popular. One may point out, of course, that today is already Christmas day. Shouldn’t I have made this post 12 days ago? Well, yes, but I procrastinated. Also, according to tradition the Twelve Days of Christmas actually begin on Christmas day, not end on it, so history is on my side.

I don’t have much else to say in this post. This is just an introduction, after all. For the next eleven days I’ll be publishing eleven different posts relating to anime or whatever catches my fancy. In the meantime, I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
